A message from Jenn Keathley, OberlinKids coordinator:
Play groups are back for fall!!
I have been looking for a new space for our free play groups that has more options and accessibility. I am pleased to announce that we will be testing out play groups at the Oberlin Public Library (OPL) on Thursdays beginning this month (see the flyer below)! Because the OPL does not open until 10 am, I have had to move the play groups to 10-11 am. You are all encouraged to stick around the library to play afterward, go to the playground behind the OPL, and attend story times at the OPL on Tuesday nights and Wednesday mornings. One of the benefits of using the library is that even if I cannot lead the group for some reason, play group can still meet and just play! I will also talk to the library about the ability to open the craft room for you all to use if I cannot be there and have one of you facilitate the messy activities in my absence!
As usual, all OberlinKids On Track for Kindergarten members are welcome to attend the play groups. All you have to do is complete the 4 links on the website to become an On Track for Kindergarten member. If you have not completed the intake forms and both of the screenings in the past year, please do so. It only takes about 20 minutes once a year to be sure your child is on the right track. If you are not sure, please ask. I still ask that you register a couple days ahead of time by calling/texting 440.371.0113 or emailing jkeathley@oberlinkids.org so I can prepare for the group.
Again, be sure to attend OPL’s storytime too! I spoke to Amanda at the library and ALL children are welcome at either day’s story times. They just focus on more age-appropriate books/activities for each group. Any of your children would enjoy either. There is singing, bubbles, dancing, counting, and more! I love that they are offering one morning and one night storytime!
I look forward to fun and friends! See you at play group!
