On Track for Kindergarten
On Track for Kindergarten gives you a picture of where your child is developmentally and provides you with resources, activities and materials to accelerate your child's learning.
We inspire parents to see the best in their child.
Parents are, and always will be, their child's first and most important teachers. The way a parent interacts with his/her child and the experiences they provide for them will have a great impact on their success in school and in life. We believe parents deserve to have the latest information on what they can do to promote healthy development and growth in their child. We will connect your family to community resources to ensure your child develops in a healthy and positive manner and enters kindergarten ready to learn.
On Track families have access to play groups, parent cafés, family dinner nights and more family fun events. Children and their families participate in annual digital developmental and social-emotional screenings. If there is an identified need or concern, the family is supported in attaining appropriate evaluations and/or services to ensure the child is On Track for Kindergarten and the family’s needs are met. OberlinKids’ goal is to have all children 0-5 in Oberlin as registered members of this program. Currently OberlinKids is serving 194 children. Is your child enrolled in this free program?
Questions parents have about their child's learning, health, and nutrition will be answered. In the case a child is in need of further support, the family will be linked to community service providers and support them in obtaining services. The goal is to identify the individual needs of each child and their families early on, work to provide the resources for continued growth and prepare each child for kindergarten.
2017 - 2018 Half Day Preschool Scholarships are available to ensure children in Oberlin have the opportunity to attend at least one year of high quality preschool prior to entering kindergarten.
Any family who feels it is not affordable to enroll their child in half day preschool programming is eligible to apply. The amount of the scholarship awarded will be based on family need. Families must be eligible for OberlinKids.
Applications are available at OberlinKids Approved Preschools (Eastwood Elementary, Kendal Early Learning Center and Oberlin Early Childhood Center).
